Milagros - Miracles

Llegamos a Argentina en marzo de este año para hacer mis últimos estudios antes de involucrarnos en nuestro ministerio. Ya que la historia es muy larga, este es un brevísimo resumen.

Cuando llegamos tuvimos problemas con el seminario por ser cristianos que creemos que la Biblia es la Palabra de Dios y que es normativa en la vida. El resultado fue que me cambiaron el plan de estudios de tres a cuatro años y medio. Aunque hablé con varias personas, no hubo respuesta por mucho tiempo. Frustrado ante el silencio, decidimos regresar a México si no teníamos una respuesta para finales de noviembre. Durante este proceso algunos de nuestros amigos nos acompañaron moralmente y en oración.

También estuvimos confundidos durante este tiempo, pues sabemos que Dios es soberano y aunque habíamos aprendido a enfocarnos en ciertas cosas en nuestro ministerio y nuestro llamado, pensamos que era muy extraño haber tenido que venir hasta acá para aprenderlo. Algunos compañeros de la escuela nos decían que nos resignáramos, ya que la escuela nunca ha reconocido haber cometido algún error. Cuando pensamos que nuestro regreso era inminente ¡ocurrió el milagro! ¡El rector vino hasta el departamento y reconoció que no era correcta la argumentación de los profesores!

Ahora sabemos que Dios escucha la oración de sus hijos y que sigue haciendo milagros.

We arrived in Argentina in March of this year with a plan to do my (Memo´s) final studies before we begin our ministry . Since it is a long story, this is a very brief summary.

When we arrived we had some problems with the seminary because we are Christians who believe the Bible is God’s word and that it is normative for our lives, an unpopular “conservative” position here. As a result the program I came under was changed from three to four and a half years. Even though I spoke to some people, there was no answer for a long time. Frustrated because of the silence, we decided to return to Mexico if we didn’t have an answer by the end of November. Some of our friends were supporting us morally and in prayer in this process.

We were also confused during this time, for we know God is sovereign and, though we had learned to focus on some areas in our ministry and call, we thought it was weird that we had to come all the way here to learn it. Some school friends told us to give up because the school had never admitted to have made a mistake. Just when things got to a point were we thought our return was imminent - a miracle! The school president came all the way to our apartment and said that the professors’ arguments were wrong!

Now we know that God listens to his children’s prayers and that He still does performs miracles.
